Seasoning pot

If you are cooking for 2 we would recommend smaller pressure cookers. Pressure cooking is so fast and convenient.  Lentil cooking, especially,  along with vegetables and other grains are a snap and can be made fresh while you are setting the table.  I usually add the lentils and water and start the cooking process.  I then cut the veggies and tomatoes and keep adding them to the pot.  I then put the pressure lid on.  This cuts down on the cooking time and the one dish meal is ready by the time I set the table and call the family to the table
Fresh wonderful food.

purchasing a pressure cooker

Beans and lentils are a natural for pressure cooking.  Savory black bean, kidney beans and garbanzo beans would take almost 3 hours to prepare using conventional methods or could take as little as 20 minutes in a pressure cooker. Lentils would take about 15 to 35 minutes with conventional methods and 10 minutes in a pressure cooking.  Now that's Good Food, fast!
Because little or no steam escapes during cooking, fewer vitamins and minerals are lost in the cooking liquid or dissipated into the air. Also because of the pressure the food comes out tasting and looking as if it was cooked on low for a long time allowing the flavors to mingle.
The result is healthier and tastier meals.

It is also faster cooking beans and lentils in a pressure cooker than a microwave.
