| Masoordal with
Spinach Recipe:Ingredients:
3/4 cup dried masoor dal
2 tsp. of ginger paste
½ tsp. turmeric
1 thinly sliced onion
1 tsp. cumin seeds
1/2 pack frozen chopped spinach
2 tsp. amchur (mango) powder
2 chopped roma tomato
2 Tbsp. oil
salt to taste
Procedure:
1 Wash dal and drain the water. In a heavy medium pot, cook
dal with tumeric and ginger in 3 cups of water. If you are using fresh spinach, add
spinach to the dal.
2 Heat oil in a sauce pan. Add onion and cumin seeds and
fry for 2 minutes.
3. Add tomato simmer for 5 minuites. Add the seasonings
along with amchur and frozen spinach to the dal.
4. Simmer on low until the spinach is cooked. Serve hot
with flat breads or on rice.. |
